UTG: Green Day Premiere "Carpe Diem"

Green Day have been popping up around the world for more-intimate-than-usual gigs over the past few months and recently rocked their hometown. While there, they unleashed a new song that we can all now enjoy because of Youtube.

Carpe Diem continues the band’s arena-ready take on punk that they’ve been putting on display for since American Idiot. If you loved that record or anything that followed, this will most likely make your day. If you’re aching for the good old days, get over it. They’re just fleeting memories.

Green Day should have a new record out sooner than not, probably sometime in 2012. This song would make a great single, so maybe we’ll get a studio version sooner than later. Stay tuned.
