Strawberry Girls Release Studio Performance Video

There are a number of bands fighting to be the next breakout rock band, and this afternoon one of the top contenders released a new studio performance video for the world to enjoy.

Finding a balance between instrumental rock and indie, with elements of everything from punk to funk thrown in for flavor, Strawberry Girls have spent the majority of 2013 building a presence on the national scene that rivals many of their genre contemporaries. Today the group released a video for the single “Negro Spiritual,” which was filmed as a live performance during one of the band’s recent studio sessions. It’s a black and white clip that keeps things as simple, but the energy and sense of intrigue in the music is as intoxicating as ever. You can view the video below.

Making it in music is difficult regardless of genre, but there is an added degree of difficulty when it comes to instrumental efforts. While usually talented from a technical aspect, many of these groups fail to offer much in the form marketability, which ultimately causes their careers to stall earlier than most young bands. Strawberry Girls are different, with a sound as unique as the clean-cut, high-quality imagery they use to promote their brand. There is no telling where they will appear next, but it’s evident from this clip they still have plenty to offer the world. Comment and let us know your thoughts on “Negro Spiritual.”
