Of Montreal Release "Fugitive Air" Video

Indie art-rockers Of Montreal continue to confuse and amuse followers worldwide today with the release of their official video for “Fugitive Air.”

Anyone familiar with Of Montreal knows that they never do anything the easy way. They’ve spent their career pushing the limits of indie experimentation to the furthest reaches of ‘out there’ lyricism, and now they’ve brought their brand of absurdity to their visual offerings with “Fugitive Air.” It’s a decidedly lo-fi clip, compiling performance footage, NSFW one-off shots, and scenes littered with effects intended to make the footage look vintage. Not everything strange turns out to be good, and the line between ‘cool’ and ‘just plain weird’ is as fine as can be. Of Montreal have in the past walked both sides, but they’ve certainly delivered something engaging with this video. I can’t explain what exactly, but something amidst the chaos pulls you in and refuses to let go. You may resist at first, but by the time the song finally closes you’re happy you had the experience.
