John Cusack Shows Up On Stage At A Peter Gabriel Concert (During "In Your Eyes," Of Course) [Video]

Though John Cusack’s filmography is pretty deep, there’s one iconic moment that stands out from the rest in the minds of those who came of age in the late 80s.

You know what we’re talking about. Lloyd Dobler. Front yard. Trench coat. Boom box. In. Your. Eyes. Roll it!

Some over-serious actors might be a bit miffed that something so juvenile as Say Anything, a romantic comedy, would be one of the high water marks of their career. But the movie has stood the test of time! Plus Cusack’s a lot cooler then those windbags. And he provided a nice little moment for pop culture and art rock fanatics in attendance at the Hollywood Bowl this past Saturday for a Peter Gabriel concert.

During the percussive introduction to “In Your Eyes,” a ballcapped figure walked out under the cover of darkness. Lo and behold, when the lights went up it was Cusack himself handing Gabriel a – yep, you guessed it – large boombox. Cuasck exited stage right but not before receiving some uproarious applause from the appreciative audience. Say Anything director Cameron Crowe was also in attendance that night and received a shoutout from Gabriel as well. Check out the nice bit of music/film culture synchronicity below and a tip of the hat to Consequence of Sound for the scoop.
