Alice Cooper Helps Open An Actual School Of Rock

Apparently, school is not out for Alice Cooper. In fact, he is bringing it back, but with drumsticks instead of pencils and guitars instead of textbooks. Just like that Jack Black movie, the heavy metal icon will be helping his friend Chuck Brennan open a rock n’ roll academy for local Boys & Girls club members in Brennan’s hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. According to Yahoo.com, the academy will be “complete with a recording studio and performance space, the center will offer lessons and have all kinds of loud stuff ” including a few high-end drum sets from Warrant guitarist Joey Allen and guitars from members of KISS.” This is similar to Cooper’s Rock Teen Center that he opened in Phoenix last week. Students will be able to learn not only how to play music, but also how to record in a record studio and use a soundboard. I don’t know much about South Dakota, but it sounds like the future of rock n’ roll might be coming from the classrooms of Sioux Falls.
