iROCK: A DAY TO REMEMBER

posted in: FeaturesRock

These days most bands cater to a single demographic be it guys or girls, hipsters or metal heads, bubble gum poppers or new wavers. As always, there can be an exception to the rule and that is quite evident in the case of a band from Ocala, Florida. A Day To Remember (ADTR) started out in 2003 and embarked on a 200-date DIY tour that led to their signing to Indianola Records. From here the band was able to push their music further and become recognized by Victory Records (current label) and trounce traditional thought of what hardcore/metalcore should sound like. ADTR blends the traditional feel of hardcore music with pop-esque vocal melodies in a way that is sure to please diverse crowd. With hard-hitting breakdowns for the guys and wonderfully arranged vocals hooks for the girls, this band offers listeners the complete package. Since the band’s inception, these talented musicians have been making waves in the underground scene and exploring the mainstream market with their cover of Kelly Clarkson‘s Since U Been Gone, which was put on the re-release of For Those Who Have Heart. Give their track Have Faith In Me (off of the album Homesick) a listen below and see for yourself how solid this band can really be. Without further ado, I’d like to introduce this week’s iRock featured artist: A Day To Remember.
